Connections to the living body
Two-and-a-half hour experimental somatic movement, dance, creative expression, improvisation sessions for connecting with body-mind and coming home to yourself
The strains, stresses and demands of everyday life can easily cause us to lose touch with the reality of our breathing, living, conscious body. Cause us to forget how to access and live in sync with our body’s inherent wisdom, its natural capacity to restore balance, de-stress and its role in enabling us to live from a place of meaning and deep connection with our self, core or inner compass.
Drawing on a wide range of practices from somatic movement, improvisation practice, creative expression, mindfulness and meditation, each of these sessions will be dedicated to deepening and re-establishing our connection with the ground of our being – the moving, breathing Self, soma, bodymind – and to facilitate the process of coming home to ourselves.
The sessions are designed to be deeply restorative, working on our own, in pairs and as a group using somatic movement, dance, mindfulness, improvisation and creative expression through drawing and writing.
The sessions will start with a 30 minute unstructured movement period to allow us to arrive, just over an hour guided somatic movement exploration, as well as time for sharing and discussion.
No previous experience whatsoever required. All welcome.
Please wear loose, comfortable and warm clothing (layers) and bring anything you may need or want to be comfortable (water, mats, blankets, cushions, notebook)
No booking required
